Me and Jordan
Champion had their Spring Banquet on April 2. Jordan Hodge and I went together and had a wonderful time. The theme was "A Night to Remember" and surely it was. Upon arriving at the Hot Springs Country Club, I made a grand entrance by falling out of the bus! :D Only me right? I got a big bruise on my knee and a run in my hose, but besides that I was fine and just laughed it off. Here are some pictures for you to enjoy!

I Can Be Single and Still Rejoice

Isaiah 54:1
"Sing, O barren, thou [that] didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou [that] didst no travail with child: for more [are] the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the Lord."
At this point if life, I am so extremely thankful that I am single and I can hear things like "Miss Trina, I love you." from kids at work. Plus, from home I can hear things like, "James Dunn got fourth place in preaching at Master Clubs Regionals even though he wasn't signed up, didn't practice, and wore dirty clothes." Even better, one of the Hope Kids got saved today, and four are getting baptized Sunday! I am gonna go on a camping trip on Thursday with my kids. My God is nothing less than super duper amazing!!!

Doggy in a Manger

Got this in an e-mail and thought it was really really cute.

A Nativity Scene was erected in a church yard.

During the night the folks came across this scene.

An abandoned dog was looking for a comfortable, protected place to sleep. He chose baby Jesus as his comfort. No one had the heart to send him away so he was there all night.

We should all have the good sense of this dog and curl up in Jesus' lap from time to time. This is too sweet not to share.
No one mentioned that the dog breed is a "shepherd!"

Sunday Sermon on Thankfulness # 3

Lately, Preacher has been doing a series on Thankfulness for the month of November. Yesterday (November 14th), he talked about encouraging your encourager.

Encourage means to urge forward. However, when we encourage, we also benefit from it. He said that "It helps when you have no one to encourage you to go encourage someone else." It is a blessing to be a blessing. He also said, "Be good to everybody because everybody is having a bad day."

Three things to be encouraged in were:

Yourself
  • I Samuel 30:6, "And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God."
Others
  • Isaiah 41:7 "So the carpenter encouraged the goldsmith, and he that smootheth with the hammer him that smote the anvil, saying, It is ready for the sodering: and he fastened it with nails, that it should not be moved."
Others to Encourage Others
  • II Samuel 11:25 "Then Samuel told the people the manner of the kingdom, and wrote it in a book, and laid it up before the LORD. And Samuel sent all the people away, every man to his house."
